This 3 bhk apartment is a contemporary Indian home for an elderly couple. Their son, who lives in the US wanted the house for his parents to be comfortable and functional to use.The clients wanted the house to be soothing and not very showcasing, thus straight lines, soft colours and simple clean-lined furniture was the starting point of the design.The entire house is done with a color pallete of soft pastel blue and green. In the Master bedroom, the wall panelling behind the bed gives a neo-classical touch to the room. While for the Son’s bedroom, a raw feel given to the room by treating a wall with exposed brick and a low height bed. The furniture pieces are all polished in a dark walnut finish which features well along the soft pastels. The softness and warmth are felt all over and they transmit a calm serenity to the space.
